Let's face it: The middle chapters of 1 Corinthians are not the easiest chapters for homiletical treatment. The apostle Paul takes time out to have "a word to the church," dealing with issues of marriage, sexual immorality, being single, eating and dietary matters, and disciplining the body and its cravings. From mid-January to mid-February, the Revised Common Lectionary gives us a series of readings from the heart of Paul's first letter to the Corinthian church, and in this issue of Homiletics we're looking at every one of them.
